Walter Allen has lived in New Smyrna Beach since 1953, coming here from Pennsylvania. He is a graduate of New Smyrna Beach High School and has a degree from The Baptist College of Florida. He served in the United States Navy, Submarine Service over four years and after returning to New Smyrna Beach, he spent over thirty-one years employed at the Utilities Commission. Responding to fulltime ministry, Mr. Allen is presently serving as pastor at Beachside Baptist Church.

He is married to Betty and they have two children and seven grandchildren. Some of his past time enjoyments are reading, walking, camping, and working with his hands.

He considers it a privilege to serve the Commission and to give back to the community so that it will be the best place along the east coast to live and visit. He hopes the utility will continue to be a great place for future employment and service to our community with the highest levels of service and quality for our customers.
